History
Standing Stone Consulting Inc. began in 1999 when a concerned group of mission driven security, crime prevention, and emergency response experts began offering their expertise to clients. These consultants had years of real world, firsthand experience in a wide variety of environments. Together they had worked on thousands of safety, security, and emergency response projects. Over the past 20+ years Standing Stone has been involved in hundreds of assessments and security/emergency response planning projects such as schools in rural Alaska, military bases around the country, and the evacuation and sheltering plan for Washington DC and the surrounding Metropolitan area. It is this exposure to the solutions observed in a wide variety of environments and types of organizations that allows our team to develop the best security and emergency response capabilities for our clients.

Ian’s leadership always seeks to serve Standing Stone’s mission of creating safe and secure environments, providing good jobs to good people, and uplifting the industry.
Lori Thompson, CCP-A

Lori is Ian’s right hand in the implementation of corporate objectives. She collaborates with the CEO and Directors to ensure that each department is appropriately trained, equipped and organized to serve the mission and our client partners. Lori is one of the country’s leading experts in anti-terrorism, school safety and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design with over 1000 projects to her name.
Alisha Hower
Director of Human Resources

Having worked for Standing Stone over the past 15 years, Alisha has fulfilled many duties and roles, including as a consultant, providing quality control and quality assurance, and more recently, Alisha has moved to become the Director of Human Resources and handles payroll. Mrs. Hower has been integral to the organization’s backbone and is currently being groomed in all company areas to become Vice-President.
